Nick Carswell is the main creative force behind Carswell & Hope, but he has also quietly been working on some new solo material that has just been released. The Wave (A Reckoning) is from a new project that drifts into the acoustic-electronica, with looping, sequencing and a custom-made multimedia performance to go with it.
Debuting in May 2019 with performances in Kansas City and Lawrence, Kansas, Changing Shades featured electronic elements, live looping, lighting and projection creating a visual accompaniment to new music that explores themes of migration, identity and belonging. Changing Shades was supported by an Inspiration Grant from ArtsKC.
